Politics Syrian Civil War

I enter this fray very reluctantly:

Can our main active posters agree or correct me, with this summary and questions:

So overall the Assad/Government/Army have been pushing back the rebels.
This resulted in the 'last' rebels being pushed up against the Turkish Border.
Turkey 'invades' a stated depth- was it 20km? They then pushed out any armed rebel groups - if so where are they guys now?
This was to prevent xxx thousands of refugees coming into Turkey?
The Assad army is now attacking or just annoying the Turkish forces? Turkey strikes back with arty and air?
So - why are there still a few American troops in play, when Trump said they were leaving. what are they doing?
How does this go forward, like it or not Assad has 'won' and as the historical/acknowledged government they will want all Syrian territory back at some point.
So what does Turkey want, to get it to withdraw from Syrian territory?
How does this prevent a final slaughter of 'rebel' combatants and also non-combatants, either immediately or in say 12 months time.

And now Erdogan is announcing that he will do what it takes to oust the Syrian army from Idlib...

A foreign nation, that invaded a country, want to clear a city, of the country it just invaded, of the regular/legitimate army of said country.

No, seriously, is Erdogan aware he has invaded a foreign country?

Today US troops managed to get into this.

US patrol trying to move through SAA checkpoint in some village, was stopped by locals. That escalates in skirmishes, random automatic fire and finally was deconflicted by arrived Russian patrol.

The videos are showing the opposite of your description: before the Russians were present, there was no fighting between US troops and this mish-mash of Regime militias with civilians:

And after the Russians arrived, one or two individuals from the crowd started shooting at the Americans:

Just wondering what the story is with the US convoy? I see there is a female soldier with them and what the rules of engagement are?

But you know crowds, especially Middle Eastern. They can be stopped mostly by violance not talks once they get fired up. So everyone seem to have calmed the F down once F-15 came and popped a flare.

They usually do the patrols to check on RF & Turkey in case of major sh""show.

It is better to have boots on the ground even if it's minimal, right? As for other reasons why they are still in Syria at all, maybe because of resouces. Cause the wagner boys got shredded once they went for Conoco factory. Though they (resouces) berely cover for the expenses or so I heard. (Also the vid is a bit out of contex but whatever) I presume the rules are just like usual i.e. open fire upon being fired at by the other side.

This should tell you something about the state of the world, something positive and negative. The Syrian parliament voted to recognize the Armenian genocide. The only other MENA nations who have done this so far are Libya and Lebanon. Of course, this recognition to a large extent is self-serving for the Syrian government, because it is a tool to virtue signal and morally grandstand against Turkey now illegally occupying its lands. But the good thing is, a morally just recognition can sometimes occur even for impure partially sincere reasons.

Probable deployment of heavy MRLS TOS-1/1A, could never tell the difference between them.

Well, define help. They can help just by not interfering in any way. If it's weapons then I think Turkey has plenty of it's own capabilities by this time, despite having their hands full with guerrilla warfare in mountains with kurds. The've been really investing in the army.

Proof for "Uragan". Next several days will prove to be really heated ones.

TOS 1 is based on T72 chassis.
TOS 1A is based on T72A chassis.

There are a few other differences, but most are in term of performances (the range for instance).

More on the outpost.

I was thinking in terms of intelligence: info from satellites, radar...

Yeah, but as far as I remember the main difference (between tanks) is not about chassis and they are superficialy simular(chassis). While the main difference is in the turret, PDS, cannon etc. As for performance the range mostly stays the same, like 3-5 km (for TOS) if I'm correct.
