And to think the removal of US troops in the region was supposed to create utter catastrophic chaos.

Anyway, though ISIS/AQ is getting removed, I do wonder if and how civilians will be able to come back to these cities. A significant proportion of all the infrastructures have been destroyed. Electricity may still be working in some parts, but I doubt water and sanitation are still operational.

Hopefully we will witness the end of Al-Qaeda in Syria soon.

Same goes for the Iran-controlled Cult of Assad, Hezbollah, Liwa Fatemiyoun, etc. But since they're directly supported by Russia, which btw do the heavy work on their land-grabbing conquest by carpet-bombing every urban settlement out of their reach, we probably won't see the end of their regime soon. Also, describing this Scorched earth strategy as "liberation" is beyond stupid.

Narrative management strikes again. For some reason the person or persons behind the nemipuka account do not want us to think the destruction of Al-Qaeda is a good thing. Let's unpack this post, which as usual seems aimed to wreck this thread and flamebait with slurs, smears and ad hominems, whilst similarly trying to skirt just on just the right side of moderation. You just called me beyond stupid for characterizing the removal of Al-Qaeda from Syrian territory a liberation. What should I have called it then? A blessing? Anything good at all? Or should it be seen as a bad thing? Please enlighten me, for I am apparently beyond stupid.

I also fail to see how a sovereign state with a still internationally recognized government can engage in "land-grabbing conquest" of its own territory. At the expense of an internationally recognized terrorist group, Al-Qaeda. Who perpetrated 9/11.

I also love the crocodile tears about Russian carpet bombing. I do not remember you complaining so much about the US carpet bombing Raqqa and Mosul. Or Israel striking the heavily urbanized Gaza strip with precision weapons, which in practice amounts to almost the same thing. I suppose you have a better solution for removing Al-Qaeda terrorists in a heavily urbanized area? Or should they be left alone, because Al Qaeda = good guys, ISIS = bad (and therefore Mosul and Raqqa were justified)? Enlighten me, for I am beyond stupid. Please tell me in what way Al-Qaeda can be considered the good guys.

I have reported you. I expect you will respond with more insults and smears, because that's your only job here, to derail the thread and turn it into a flamefest. And to make sure that any casual reader of this thread keeps thinking removing Al-Qaeda is a bad thing. J'accuse of approaching this discussion with insincere intentions, that is, you are not really here to debate, just to derail and spread misinformation.

Reported for having an opinion?

What's the penalty for being reported? - asking for a friend......

Nemipuka is just like our little Jihadi Joulean, i even somehow like his posts. These full of butthurt and outdated al-qaeda propaganda.

For being reported itself, nothing I would guess. It is up to the moderators.

Reported for a very loooooong annoying and boring history of attempting to wreck threads, misrepresenting opinions of others, flamebaiting, posting misinformation, smearing, ad hominems and perhaps 10% of actual useful content.

The things you say on this topic are beyond stupid. Or should I say "unsmart", for the sake of political correctness?
About the "liberation" of Maarat al Numan: the population is gone, the whole town is destroyed, basically there is nothing left to enjoy any "liberty", and the "liberators" themselves represents the Arab version of North Korea in terms of basic human rights.

Narrative management strikes again. For some reason the person or persons behind the nemipuka account do not want us to think the destruction of Al-Qaeda is a good thing.

For some reasons Fred333 want us to thing that all Syrians who oppose Russia and Iran are members of Al-Qaeda.

I also fail to see how a sovereign state...

? ?

...with a still internationally recognized government can engage in "land-grabbing conquest" of its own territory.

Well, North Korea is internationally recognized as "Democratic people's republic", that's the official term regarding this country. I guess this means that they have democracy there...

...Or Israel striking the heavily urbanized Gaza strip with precision weapons, which in practice amounts to almost the same thing.

Israel is striking Gaza in response of Palestinian rocket attacks.
Russia is carpet bombing Syria as a scorched earth tactic because otherwise its proxies on the ground couldn't capture anything.
Israel isn't trying to capture Gaza. Israel is restraining in order to prevent a total blood bath and turning this:

...into this:
raqqa-mob-poster.jpg

Obviously, Israel is treating it's enemy far better than Russia, Iran and Proxy Bashar are treating Syria. But still, here you are, insisting that those entities are the "liberators" of their victim.

I have reported you.

Well, excuse me for disrupting your comfort, but if you can't handle opposite opinion, maybe you and AND should start your echo-chamber somewhere else.

Meanwhile, the Iranian proxies under the "SAA" brand keep doing their thing. But since the living has escaped, there is no one to take their atrocities except the dead.
