Crime Russian opposition figure hospitalized

You are talking to the wrong Russians then

Either that, or most Russians know Navalny’s and Putin’s personalities from first hand experience instead of yellow press papers, and find the story not only unlikely but also funny.

The main message Putin has so far conveyed, if your warped reality was to be accepted, is “If you oppose me, I will poison you. But you will survive, and get royal treatment by the entirety of the western community. Fame, bodyguards, meetings with world leaders, free food. So ultimately, it doesn’t really cost much to oppose me, and technically... you kind of win from doing it. Oopsie.”

The problem is that you guys live in a warped reality and are so neck deep in it, it begins to resemble schizophrenia. Akin to the mentally traumatized grandpa McCain, mistaking your own shadow for a soviet invasion.

There was a time when Russians accused the west in all of the world’s tragedies. Now the boot is on the other foot. Hard times I guess?

Doesn't really work that great, considering pretty much no one in Russia believes Navalny was poisoned by Putin.
So that's mission failed, if he intended to scare potential future opponents ?
Like I said here.
No matter how you twist and turn the story, it just doesn't make any sense.
Shirley its worked great - 100 russians stopped in street, did Putin poison Navalny - let me think, whats the right answer, as they point a TV camera at me.....

I'd suggest the west is only blaming Russia, for Russian problems.

You may have noticed, that we cant hide that the US president is in hospital, nor can we hide development of a new stealth bomber, neither can China. And yet somehow we have developed and deployed on our own country, a WMD poison? That really stacks up, doesnt it? Not a single disaffected worked for Porton Down has turned up, claiming they bottled it up in perfum bottles? And for the most bizarre reasons we only use it on people associated with Russia? In case you missed it, the west doesnt give a damn about Russia, you are a spent entity, to be contained and watched.

All the world attention is on China, must be hard to accept, maybe thats why you have to poison a few ex-citizens every year, to keep your google analytics score up?

That's right all the wrong Russians are in Russia and all the right Russians are in Londongrad.
Most of the Ruski's I know are still in Ruskia - but not been there for about 5 years as last time I went it was a very uncomfortable experience and I won't be going again any time soon

I do employ a couple who are married to English guys - they despair at how Ruskia has changed, but then again they are both very well-educated, one used to lecture in English at a Ruski university - the sort of people Putin should encourage to stay at home but actually drives them abroad by lack of opportunity

I avoid anyone from Londistan if I can

Well, when some people from UK and US (iirc) investigating US fake story about Iraq WMD and all this story are unexpectedly commiting suicide or was killed became a victim of a crime. And of course they did not survive and nobody cares much.

can't you read?
Read what? Your cool story about that Russians leaved Russia for London? (Y)
I live in Russia all my life and you are trying to say something i am and every single person i know here are wrong Russians?

So you are telling me Sadam didn't use chemical weapons against his own population prior to the Iraq war?

There was no WMD in Iraq at the time of USA agression in Iraq.

There were some dodgy deaths, Gerald Bull etc, but I'm pretty sure they do get investigated. But I'd stand by my point, that most fingers point at Russia, and thats not propoganda, and the idea that we killed our own, to score points is fantasy.

Also one more point, lets say we did do it, why did we do it? To impose half assed sanctions on a few Putin cronies? Surely we would have imposed naval blockade, or taken all russian assets in west?

We only knew this afterwards. and it probably wasnt the reason we did it anyway.

And yes it ended up a mess, so did Afghanistan....Superpowers, are meh, pretty average.....

I don't live in London - I don't know any Russians in London

However, I do have a number of Russian friends - I don't see all Russians as wrong - to be honest I feel sorry for them that Putin and his gangsters have plundered the wealth of your country for their own ends - and there are still a huge amount of very poor people in your country - and don't start about life expectancy/drink/drugs - low birth rate etc.

I used to like visiting Russia and have travelled quite extensively for a 'Westerner' in Russia - the last time I was there I stopped in Moscow and to be honest it was a horrible experience for both me and my Russian host - your security services took my laptop and phone and completely wrecked both - we were followed everywhere we went and it was not even subtle (you don't do subtle)

I won't be back any time soon or whilst Putin is in power

Does make me wonder who you work for.....

point 1 - I am sure @Royal will have a real world view on that

Point 2 - we should have learnt something from the Russians - don't go there and just drop bombs on it - don't put boots on the ground
You are never going to solve the issues they have you just need to contain them in Afghanistan

I met lot of foreigners even here in wild and scary Siberia (my wife worked in the company that have many english-speaking personell, mostly from US, UK and some asian countries as well). None of them experienced any such things here in Russia and most of them lived here for year or two. I even know few of them are married and stayed here. Most of them were absolute surprising that Russia is much safe and developed then they imagined.

1/ exactly - the two women I employ are both married to English men who lived in Russia - the City areas of Russia are just like every other country - but once you get out in the sticks it's a completely different ball game due to the size of your country

2/ the issue was not who I worked for but the agency he worked for - the odd thing is he has been to the UK to stop with us and I had been there a few times to see him and his wife - I know what he did in Russia but never asked any questions about it
Sad thing is we get on very well and have a shared interest but the nature and actions of your current Government has spoilt that
