Crime Russian opposition figure hospitalized

Seems Navalny got himself in hot waters with Gerhard Schröder and so did Bild for publishing Navalny's accusations.

It's funny but not surprising. Navalny's unquenchable thirst to spout delirious nonsense was Russia's problem. Now he's Germany's problem. Bon appetit. ?

Looking at this whole story in retrospect, we can see the following results:

- Navalny can't return to Russia anymore
- Germany attested to the fact (beyond all the political noise) that it remains committed to its deals/partnerships with Russia
- Navalny's ratings started falling in motherland because fewer and fewer people are taking his stories for granted
- Russia lost the loudest loudmouth "opposition"/"liberal" figure it had

If this poisoning was really an FSB assassination operation, then the real goal was to discredit Navalny without killing him, turn him into a permanent expat, and test Germany's friendship with Russia.

Or it wasn't a Russian operation to begin with, and is a big (and failed) charade in the game of global politics, just as other similar stories out there, primarily directed at the western audience to justify non-justifiable foreign policy shenanigans.

Thats right, prostitutes, drugs, arent enough, the west(where is that exactly?) decided to produce a copy of a russian nerve agent, and go round using it only on ex-russians. Purely to achieve what exactly? Most of the west hadnt heard of this guy until someone poisoned him.

And of course Russia makes no foreign polict shenanigan's? Crimea? Syria? Belorussia? ..........

the west(where is that exactly?)

North-Atlantic political and military alliance, 1st world, call it whatever you want. But you know what the "west" stands for in political context. No need to play dumb. ?

It doesn't seem to be a copy, considering that it fails to kill the victim every single time it's used. It's neither authentic nor copied in substance, only in its political identity.

Purely to achieve what exactly?

To hamper the partnerships deals between EU and Russia.
Weren't it YOU guys (and by you I mean your side of the playing field) who kept screaming that EU as a whole must do everything to rely on western energy provision, to prevent Russia from using energy as a political weapon of coercion? What were all those liquid gas shipping projects about? That cost more to deliver, cost more to store, cost more to maintain, than the Russian alternatives?
Again, playing dumb isn't your best talent.

Most of the west hadnt heard of this guy until someone poisoned him.

Navalny has been much more popular in western press than he ever was in Russian own domestic media outlets.
Because for Russia he was a youtube blogger, and nobody makes news or writes articles about youtubers. For the west he was Putin's main opponent whom Kremlin fears the most. ?

And of course Russia makes no foreign polict shenanigan's? Crimea? Syria? Belorussia? ..........

What kind of shenanigans are you referring to here?
What's secret or dishonest about Crimea? Are you one of those special people who still think majority of Crimean population was against joining Russia and their voice was silenced by little green men?
What's secret or dishonest about Syria? Russia wasn't invited by the Syrian government to defend its security interests in the region? Or are you one of those special people who still thinks Putin and Assad are secretly bombing Syrian babies with chemical weapons to achieve supremacy in virtual gacha games?
What's secret and dishonest about Belarus? Tikhanovskaya has no proven mandate, neither does she actually have any political means of controlling the country. And now she's an expat forming fictional countries abroad, similar to Navalny ? quite hard to tell which of the two is the biggest loser.

I wasnt expecting War and Peace you know...

Why that?

He's now the messiah who escaped political assassination organized by Kremlin itself.
Imagine returning to the country you cried wolf is out to kill you. Loss of face and contradiction of own conspiracies aside, he's likely going to face prosecution for treason or similar.

Is this true?

Perhaps I would be hesitant to return to a country that poisoned me under threat of being jailed
Let me think - stay somewhere where I actually got some decent medical attention or return to Ruskia, so they can complete the job?

Whatever way you spin it if it smells like Putin it is usually Putin(Y)

Most of the opposition figures urge him to come back actually. But I don't think he should. At least for now.

If Putin wanted Navalny dead in Germany, Navalny would be dead in Germany ;)
Whatever way you spin it, if you are a dying breed of cold-war era paranoiacs, you are a dying breed of cold-war era paranoiac.

I think you already know the result of any 'trial'(Y)

I am not sure why you resurrected the thread to be honest

I had seen various reports - FSB did it - etc. and did not post as we had done it to death (well nearly)

We think Putin did it

You are trying to tell me he didn't

In 10 years time when Putin has gone we will find out he did do it

Are you happy Putin has stolen $16 bn from the ordinary poor Ruski people? No wonder you have an anti corruption party

Yeah. Second Joe Biden victory in US elections, to convince Pentagon to finally concede.
what have the Americans to do with this - did they give him the drink?

He "can't return" or he "doesn't want to return"? The are different things...
Stay in Germany or go back to Ruskia and go to jail

Even I would stay in Germany(Y)

He "can't return" or he "doesn't want to return"? The are different things...

He doesn't want and he can't. Because even if he wasn't facing jail time or prosecution, the fact of him returning to Russia after barely escaping alive, would kind of contradict the whole assassination story he's been spinning all this time.

In truth, Navalny perfectly understand he has completely buried any kind of chances of a personal future in Russia.
Now his main problem is to identify sources of funding which would allow him to continue living as a dissident in Germany or some other country. And I'd say this is actually the biggest issue for him right now. Because this assassination hysteria is going to die down fairly quickly, I'd say I give it another year in the headlines at most, after which he will be forgotten. No interest to his persona would mean no income. So he'll either have to live off his savings, donations, or start his own business. Start a new life basically. Not an easy task ;) So he'll do his best to try and drag this story out for as much as possible, keep the spotlight on him for as long as he can, likely by making more and more sensationalist and loud ridiculous claims, and then fade from the information realm.

I am not sure why you resurrected the thread to be honest

Sorry for rubbing it in, but it appears Russia has only profited from this entire charade. Who would have thought that a failed assassination would strengthen Russia's position domestically as well as with Germany.
That was the point of "resurrecting" the thread. Sorry for causing you pain, but I'm a sadist at times.

I had seen various reports - FSB did it - etc.

I had seen various reports that the earth is flat, and that smoking is actually beneficial to your health.
etc.
Don't think, just consume what you are fed. Am I right? ;) mister Iraq WMDs.

We think Putin did it

You don't think. You consume.

In 10 years time when Putin has gone we will find out he did do it

We won't because Mi6 has a very strict policy with regard to the period of declassification of their covert ops.

Yes, I love stories about dragons and fairies. But yours is a bit boring.
