Captured German half-track put back into service. Apparently the US 83rd Infantry Divison made themselves into a motorised division by putting into service any running German vehicles they captured (at one stage they even had a Me-109!).

I was not sure if they had weapons. AFAIK both scenarios would be valid. The newly reformed Italian Army fought along the Allied Forces in Italy but they also employed Italian soldiers as work-force.
