BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) - Sea trials of China's second aircraft carrier have been conducted safely and smoothly and achieved the anticipated goals, China's Ministry of National Defense said Thursday.

Wu Qian, spokesperson for the ministry, said at a regular press conference that the aircraft carrier left a dock at Dalian Shipyard in northeast China's Liaoning Province in recent days for the sea trials to test its equipment platform and facilities.

Wu said the operation was a normal arrangement in the construction plan of the carrier and its construction is being carried forward steadily in accordance with the plan.

In post #384 I stated that the new PLAN Carrier had returned to the builders yard in in Dialian. Actually that news report was mis-translated deliberately by some Chinese fanboi to make it appear that the ship's sea trial was cut short. It was not. The news report is actually an update of the sea trials. The photos posted in that post are of the ship leaving port. Why he did that I've no clue.

The Chinese do not have any regular recruit training. About 60% of the recruits come from rural areas. There are NO CONSCRIPTS in the PLA contrary to popular belief. They are all volunteers. All recruits serve a two year hitch then they are mustered out of the PLA. That usually occurs from August 30th to December 30th sometimes up until February...this is the same times as the new recruits arrive...

I found this online with Quora..a source I do not trust. However this is correct as far as I know about the PLA except for the word conscript.

"For the enlisted corps, vastly different. They do not have centralized basic training. Conscripts(recruits) go directly to their units (in their respective military regions) where other soldiers train them. If a particular conscript(recruit) shows some particular aptitude (e.g. medical) they can get additional training, but many receive no formal training. My counterpart was actually surprised that every U.S. Army Soldier receives formalized job training. I don't believe they have anything similar to the Non-Commissioned Officer Education System we have either."

As I stated....The Chinese do not have any regular recruit training. However when the new recruits arrive at their command they are sequestered for a time and given basic military training. The training can be very tough.

the L15, looks like a Italian M345 or Russian Yak of same plane. Is this a licensed copy or a home development

Home built. A dated article but still applicable;

Hongdu L-15 is a twin engine, modern jet trainer or light attack aircraft designed and manufactured by Hongdu Aviation Industry Group (HAIG) of China. It has been built as a rival to Guizhou JL-9/FTC-2000 Mountain Eagle. The L-15 will be used as a lead-in fighter trainer (LIFT) by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and the People’s Liberation Army Naval Air Force (PLANAF). About five prototypes have been built by HAIG.
