Saryu-class patrol vessel INS Sunayna (P57) entered Port Victoria yesterday to participate in the Seychelles National Day on 29th June 2024. The ship will also be undertaking philanthropic activities and will be open for visitors on National Day.
Australia:
V & W class destroyer HMAS Waterhen (D 22) Lost 30.06.41. Attacked by Axis dive bombers 50 nautical miles NW of Sidi Barani on 29.06. 41. Taken in tow by HMS Defender but she rolled over & sank with no fatalities.

Exercise Mainbrace was the first naval exercise conducted by NATO on a large scale. Over 200 ships and 80,000 men from no less than nine navies (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, and the Netherlands all took part) were involved in the exercise. The exercise was designed to help simulate defending against a Soviet attack on Northern Europe, protecting key coastal assets, and landing forces ashore.
