A total of four Mi-26 Halo heavy lift helicopters had been obtained from Russia in 1996, and now operating out of Pukchang Air Base.

One of them was reportedly lost in a fatal crash accident during recent disaster relief operation, killing all crews on-board.

According to the press, It suddenly lost control of the helicopter over the flooded water

while attempting to rescue the flood victims in Yalu River.

AFAIK, Samjangkol, which is located at north-east of the country. There's one Mi-2 squadron and two helicopter regimental the same base which host, In total, at some ten Mi-24 Hind combat helicopters. The only dedicated assault helicopter in the North Korean Air Force inventory.

Roughly 28 Su-7BMK Fitter (export version of Su-7 Fitter) started serving Pukchang AFB throughout the 70s and 90s.



It's still reported to be as being operational and thoroughly briefed about its existence to the combat pilots in the RoKAF.

At least one example is now on outdoor display at Weapons Exhibition Hall in Pyoungyang, North Korea.
