The Indian state Defense Research and Development Organization conducted the fourth successful flight test of the prototype of the first Indian long-range air-to-air missile with a solid-propellant hypersonic air jet engine, developed under the Indian-Russian Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) program on December 16, 2021.
The test was carried out at the Chandipur test site (Orissa). The rocket was launched from a ground-based launcher, reached a great height and speed, where the scramjet was operated. The rocket has reached the target Mach number. The trajectory of the missile was successfully tracked by telemetry before landing.
