I would be cautious with regime change in Iran. As much as I know there are incredible people there and a thirst for change in many places, the new regimes obtained through foreign intervention lack the legitimacy of a real revolution.
In 1979, most protesters against the Shah looked like the opposition to the mullahs today...they were confiscated the revolution by a silent majority of people who were religious nuts and way too conservative to accept the demands of the moderates.
Iranians I follow are torn by the fact that they deeply desire regime change but are very upset with their country being bombed.
Some vids showing rejoicing now have community notes indicating that they are out of date or context
Yes I have been to Iran, seen fantastic people, wish them the best in a mullah free country and believe it will happen yet my gut feeling is that if it happens this way, our hopes and those of the Iranians will be shattered.
And I hope I am wrong
