I still don’t understand why we’re targeting all of Iran’s proxies but not Iran itself—why not cut off the head of the snake?

Plus, I doubt these strikes will have much impact since the Houthis’ headquarters are hidden deep within Yemen’s caves. The terrain works in their favor.

That plan didn't survive first contact with the enemy in Tora Bora. Especially wouldn't fancy my chances as the US can deliver far heavier specialist munitions on target than the IAF can.

This is Iran's last surviving proxy.

I agree, but this proxy operates very differently from the others. Imagine rats in the sewers, hiding in cracks and crevices, suddenly emerging to launch a UAV toward Israel or an American base in the region before vanishing again.

How do you combat them without direct human intervention—unless you deploy thousands of drones to scan their skies around the clock?

The Houthis are like an Alabama tick—almost impossible to get rid of.

The -bomb their weapons and eliminate anyone with any semblance of authority- worked pretty well against Hezbollah and Hamas.

Israel could only carry out limited strikes due to the distance. The US has several bases in the area, a CSG and a lot of (older) cruise missiles.

Biden took a different approach. I have a feeling that 2 carriers plus other assets could give Yemen hell for a month or two.

I’m not saying some wouldn’t survive, but to launch anti ship missiles requires radar, comms, missiles etc,

It’s a warning to Iran.

Next time it’s Iran.

Proxies have uses, who’d have though it works both ways.

Yes, looks like it's going to go on for a while.
