Warfare HAMAS attack on Israel, Oct 2023 & Iran’s Proxies.

As long as Israel explicitly retains the right to strike, south of the river, then that would seem ok to me.

Either Lebanon can enforce it- with help from France, nato etc, or Israel will take care of it.

Either way it’s another Iranian tool blunted. I guess fortunately that the Iranian that created this plan, to surround Israel, is presumably dead by now. Otherwise he would be having a rooftop catch-up/performance imrovement plan.

Kamal Kharrazi, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, tells pro-Iran broadcaster Al-Mayadeen that changing the country’s nuclear doctrine is on the table if Tehran is exposed to an “existential threat.”

“We now have the technical capabilities necessary to produce nuclear weapons… Only the supreme leader’s fatwa currently prohibits it,” Kharrazi says.

Khamenei banned the development of nuclear weapons in a fatwa in the early 2000s, reiterating his stance in 2019 by saying: “Building and stockpiling nuclear bombs is wrong and using it is haram (religiously forbidden)… Although we have nuclear technology, Iran has firmly avoided it.”

Iranian officials have repeatedly threatened to upend the country’s nuclear doctrine in recent years.

Kharrazi reiterates that Iran will respond to Israel’s retaliatory strike at the appropriate time and manner.

He adds that Iran is also likely to increase the range of its ballistic missiles.
After the next attack, they need to hit the nuclear facilities already, there's no sense in waiting anymore...

The dudes in the civilian clothes with IR beacons on them are interesting... local assets?

May have been undercovers sent into the area some time before to keep an eye out for possible targets rather than locals. If they were locals they wouldn't want to be seen with the assault force and would be kept at a distance anyway to not (inadvertently) compromise anyone.

Mission (tech) specialists or intel agency staff are other and imo more likely possibilities. Neither would be trusted enough with firearms to have them drawn unless absolutely necessary in self-defence or even legally be allowed to carry them.

Iran’s leader makes harshest threats yet, sending currency to new low; IRGC general says reprisal for Israeli attack that followed Iran’s missile barrage will be ‘wise, powerful’

Iran’s supreme leader on Saturday threatened Israel and the US with “a crushing response” over attacks on Iran and its allies.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei spoke as Iranian officials are increasingly threatening to launch yet another strike against Israel after its October 26 attack on the Islamic Republic that targeted military bases and facilities and that Iran said killed at least five people.

Israel’s retaliatory strikes on Iranian military facilities came weeks after the October 1 attack, in which Iran launched 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, sending most of the population rushing to bomb shelters and safe rooms, causing relatively minor damage to military bases and some residential areas, and killing a Palestinian man in the West Bank.

Any further attacks from either side could engulf the wider Middle East, already teetering over the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip and Israel’s ground operation of Lebanon, into a wider regional conflict just ahead of the US presidential election this Tuesday.

“The enemies, whether the Zionist regime or the United States of America, will definitely receive a crushing response to what they are doing to Iran and the Iranian nation and to the resistance front,” Khamenei said in video released by Iranian state media.

The supreme leader did not elaborate on the timing of the threatened attack, nor the scope. The US military operates throughout the Middle East, with some troops now manning a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, battery in Israel.

A senior official in the pro-Iran Hezbollah al-Nujaba militia says Islamist groups in Iraq are fully coordinating with Tehran on a response “at the appropriate time and place” against Israel for last week’s airstrikes.

Israel’s airstrikes on October 26 came in response to an Iranian ballistic missile attack on October 1.

“When Israel attacked Iran it violated Iraqi airspace and international norms, and the United States cooperated with it, despite its security agreements with Iraq,” Haider al-Lami, a member of the militia’s political bureau, tells Lebanese news outlet Al-Akhbar.

“Iran has the right to attack Israel from any point in Iraq,” he adds.
Basically changing the game from medium to easy mode, Israel can hit targets in Iraq with ease, any launchers would probably be toast before they even finished setting up...

The real question is: How many people have been arrested for tweets condemning this so far?

I’m pretty sure Bunny and Company were painted on a lot of combat planes back in Dubya Dubya Twooo….. and I bet Warner Bros was just fine with it…

But they were protagonists in that scenario….. I guess someone else can perfect the analogy/comparison….
