Another reservist tests Jukajärvi traditional march of special border jaegers. Tradition started in 50's. 47km forced march with 20kg backpack has to be completed in under 8 hours and the conscripts here are saying they are aiming for six hours, happy with seven.

I can only raise my hat and bow for these youngsters. For me the forced march of 15km and with 12kg of equipment was hard. Heck, the distance is same as in our NCO-school march, that was more like 24 hours.

Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC Defence) has started the construction of the second multi-role corvette included in the Squadron 2020 project. Today, the 9th of October, the cutting of the steel structures for the hull of the second vessel of the Squadron started in the presence of invited guests in Rauma. The keel of the first vessel was laid in Rauma last April.
