The "MVH 21" exercise for ground forces will be held from 10 to 26 November 2021 in the Rovajärvi shooting and training area. "MVH 21" consists of an anti-tank missile exercise (10–18 November), an infantry shooting exercise (18–25 November) and an artillery shooting exercise (15–26 November).

Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II Block 4 has been chosen as the new multi-role fighter for the Finnish Air Force. It will be a full replacement of the current F/A-18 fleet, so 64 F-35's will be delivered from 2026 onwards.

F-35 and Gripen made it to the final stretch. F-35 scored 4,47 in performance comparison. Second place scored 3,81. Requirement was at least 4 points.
