civil aerospace Civilian aviation/aerospace thread

Is that a surprise? Using Qantas for an example, Pilots are on 150-450K, Cabin Crew on 60-80K. One mob are mostly well set up, the other living pay to pay.
Well right now people are trying to keep their jobs, but going around talking bout your benefits and when they can choose their flights again,... which is a perk when everybody is going for pay cuts, sounds very insensitive. A 50% pay cut is more drastic for pilots who live a with bigger expenses that mostly come with a higher salary. Right now, the pilots in my Airline, not the sister airline is seeing about an 80% pay cut.

Sadly it probably wasn't unexpected - I don't believe they've delivered any to anyone other than UPS or Volga-Dnepr for a few years now. There hasn't been a passenger version delivered since 2017.

A early prototype of SpaceX's next gen massive rocket took off and landed today. Though around 100 feet tall (~30 meters) this is basically just the fuel tanks of the second stage and a single engine (both the first and second stage will have more on later versions), this is testing materials, design and production methods. Most of these same concepts/components will also be used in the larger first stage that will go under this.

A version with the nose cone / payload section on top, and the first stage is under it, will be around 400 feet tall (120 meters)
