Astute-class HMS Anson (S123) first dive. Feb 2022. This is the trim dive, a static dive done immediately after launch, before the final stages of commissioning which are followed by sea trials. The purpose is to perform an inclining experiment while dived, allowing accurate measurement of the centre of mass to compare against weight estimates from build.
