HMS Albion leads the way as commandos head for the Baltic
More than 1,000 sailors and Royal Marines are heading on a three-month mission to the North Atlantic and Baltic at the beginning of a new era of commando operations.
This is the first deployment of the Littoral Response Group (North) task group, which is the first of two forces – centred around Royal Marines and amphibious ships – that will regularly carry out operations in areas of interest to the UK, providing reassurance to allies and deter potential adversaries.

RAF led military Tactical Air Control Party is supporting NATO Operations in the Baltic region
A RAF led Tactical Air Control Party has deployed to Operation Cabrit with the 1 Mercian Battlegroup.
An RAF news release says on Operation Cabrit, the TACP deploys Joint Terminal Attack Controllers together with signallers, as part of a Fire Support Team that direct and control air support for the Battlegroup. The TACP is from C Battery 3 Royal Horse Artillery (RHA) and is commanded by Flight Lieutenant John Ennals from the RAF Regiment. It is made up of personnel drawn from the RAF Regiment, Royal Dragoon Guards and RHA personnel and is based at Tapa Camp, Estonia.
Royal Navy joins NATO's major missile test off Scotland
HMS Dragon, HMS Lancaster and HMS Argyll have joined NATO allies in the world’s largest test of naval air and missile defences.
Played out off Scotland’s Outer Hebrides and Norway’s Arctic coast, the three-week-long Formidable Shield 2021 will test missile systems, sensors and software.
The 3rd Battalion the Parachute Regiment have been training to be validated as the next air manoeuvre battlegroup, within 16 Air Assault Brigade Headquarters. This means they will go through the readiness cycle and be rolled in AMBG (Air Manoeuvre Battlegroup) 2 later this year. This validation exercise was know as Exercise Joint Warrior. This training has been a three week exercise from 18th April to 8th May 2021 on Salisbury Plain Training Area. 3 Para have conducted a vast arrange of training which include: fighting in tunnels, live fire ranges, conducting parachutable stores drops with a A400M aircraft, and mission planning.

Carriers sail together as HMS Queen Elizabeth and Carrier Strike Group complete final exercise
Twenty warships, three submarines and 150 aircraft have taken part in a UK-led multinational military exercise to test the UK Carrier Strike Group’s response to a range of crisis and conflict situations.
Designed to push the Carrier Strike Group to the limits and ensure its readiness for any situation during this year’s seven-month global deployment, Exercise Strike Warrior 21 provided the largest and most demanding assessment it has so-far faced.
Following the exercise, the UK’s two aircraft carriers - HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales - were able to meet each other at sea for the very first time.
