@Gaz the aviation museums are a must see-destination if I can ever make my way over there. Till then I have to make do with the local Pima Air and Space Museum's Jaguar, Harrier, and Vampire.

I'm visiting the Museum of Flight in Seattle next week and eager to see any British birds in their collection.

Most of their British types seem to be replicas, but I read there's an original Spitfire Mk IX in their collection. And although they're not military, I think you should really go and see their Concorde and the DH Comet too. :D

AJAX rear view

I could imagine that these bulky compartments at the outer edges of the rear could be cumbersome for troops exiting through the hatch. They sure obstruct the side view.

In other news: LED rear lights made it to the military.
The rear door of the Ajax isn’t the primary exit/entry for the crew they get in through the hatches. The rear door allows for Casevac and replen of ammo it can carry an optional 4th man in the back but it’s not an IFV like warrior with half a section in the back.

Hmmm is Ajax not replacing the Warrior then ?,
I know it has another purpose such ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance,Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance) but it was my belief it would be an IFV too
Interesting :)

Edit

A little more reading has provided more wisdom, it seems that Ajax is replacing the aged CVRT recce vehicles such as Scimitar and Scorpion, not Warrior

Lots more photos here.
Unfortunately they have usage restriction limited to MOD News Licence holders only.
About 25 pages but some great pics as you scroll through, I did a search for AJAX and a few results are not directly related but scroll through and enjoy.

If the URL for my search times out just go to the link below and search AJAX

Yeah - the back door will allow it to act like the CVR(T) Spartan

Nice pics of the 30 Commando guys - thanks @Gaz

No it replaces the CVR(t) Warrior is going through a life extension program that sees it fitted with the same 40mm as the Ajax

... such as Scimitar and Scorpion...

A large part of my family (Mum, Dad, both Grandads and several uncles and aunts) all worked at Alvis in Coventry at various times from the 40s to the mid 80s. I'm remembering stuff now from when I was five or six, so take this with a pinch of salt - my Dad's Dad had put boards down in his attic over the rafters and I remember them being some kind of black material surface. I asked my Dad about them and he told me that they were benches out of the back of an Alvis armored vehicle (I want to say a Saracen but can't be sure) that my Grandad had "obtained" from work. Whether or not my he outright stole them Alvis I don't actually know.

EDIT - On reflection, they may have been from a Stalwart. Anyone remember if they had long black bench seats in the back?
