On April 16-18, 2019, Polish 31st BLT (tactical aviation base) secured the flight of British WAH - 64D Apache combat helicopters from 663 Sqn. which go to Estonia.
It is worth mentioning that 663 Sqn cultivates the traditions of 663 Squadron of Aircraft Artillery (Polish) created in the middle of 44. At present, 663 Sqn is stationed at the Wattisham Stowmarket, Sufolk airport and its combat experience is the mission in Iraq, Afghanistan and in the Baltic States.

Five Hunter F.6s which formed part of the display team of No 92 Squadron - The Blue Diamonds’ - are seen in tight line abreast formation rehearsing for the 1961 season.
They differ from Apache Longbow by having more powerful engines and transmission (which is why they didn't have to dismount Longbow in Afghanistan like US AH-64s did), They also have different electronics and sensors, as well as some weapons.

Death on duty in Malawi
It is with great sadness that the MOD must confirm the death of Guardsman (Gdsm) Mathew Talbot of 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards in Malawi on Sunday 5 May 2019. He was deployed as part of a counter poaching operation.
Gdsm Talbot enlisted in the Army in September 2013 and joined the 1st Battalion, The Coldstream Guards, quickly becoming a character within Number 7 Company undertaking ceremonial duties in London, and then later in Number 2 Company on deployment. With his keen interest in military history he was proud to have joined a Regiment with such a rich and long lineage.
Having attended Exercise Askari Storm in 2018 he was not unfamiliar with Africa and he volunteered to deploy in support of counter poaching in Malawi. His time in Africa allowed him to indulge his passion for photography and for languages experiencing situations far separated than those he would experience in the UK.
Dangerous things elephants. One of the Hereford lads was trampled to death when he landed in the middle of a herd on a jump back in the day. I heard about it from a couple of the guys who survived when I was teaching a climbing course a few years later. One of them had more metal work in his legs than bone...
Took this during a flyby at last years Farnborough airshow.
One I snapped at the Farnborough airshow last year. Not a great shot I'm afraid - I'm an average photographer at the best of times and those things move pretty quickly.

The sixth and last of the Royal Navy’s powerful new Type 45 Destroyers was launched in November 2010 on the Clyde.
The 7,500 tonne warship ‘Duncan’ has been built by BAE Systems using 2800 tonnes of steel - more than used in Blackpool Tower - which equates to 100,000 square metres and is covered with 40 tonnes of paint.
Marie Ibbotson, wife of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief Fleet Vice Admiral Richard Ibbotson, sent the Type 45 down the slipway on the anniversary of the Royal Navy’s significant victory over the Dutch fleet in 1797 which was led by Admiral Adam Duncan after whom the ship is named.
Equipped with the Sea Viper missile system, the Type 45 will be able to engage multiple airborne or sea skimming targets from any direction at supersonic speed, helping her to provide unrivalled protection to the fleet from the most sophisticated aircraft or missiles.
Duncan is affiliated to Dundee and Belfast. She completes the Class of six Type 45 warships along with Daring, Dauntless, Diamond, Dragon and Defender.
I could imagine that these bulky compartments at the outer edges of the rear could be cumbersome for troops exiting through the hatch. They sure obstruct the side view.
In other news: LED rear lights made it to the military.
