The Ukrainian army recently entered the top five strongest armies in territore of Ukraine.

But seriously, it seems to me that if Russia attacks, for example, the Baltic states, the operation will take a few hours. And, I think, no one will save this Baltics. There will be a howl in the press, someone will express concern, someone will impose sanctions again. But I bet no one (except maybe Poland) will even move. Firstly, none of the armies of Europe wants to fight it is not clear where and it is not clear why. And secondly, it could be a cool excuse to start World War III. Which the US and NATO can lose.

My words are just a guess, I am not calling for war. I'm just trying to analyze the situation. What is your opinion?

Here's the thing. Personaly I am also a bit skeptical about NATO's military committment if S**t really hit the fan in regions that directly border Russia. But I think people massively underestimate just how capable and competent European armies actualy are. If and yes in my eyes it's a bit of a shakey "IF", NATO Europe's armies were fully committed, in my personal opinion they could handily bog down or even defeat a full scale conventional assault in virtualy any circumstance. What is a truly terrifying prospect, is the unconventional part of such a potential war and about who wins a WWIII, I think everyone would lose.

Two things:

1) The Taliban are directly responsible.

2) The Taliban are not able to create security.

I say both.

Can't see the Taliban being behind this attack. In fact, it undermines their authority.

Many Russians (and others) confuse "unwilling" with "unable".

With the flight that left 1/2 hr ago we have completed evacuation of all Danish citizens & our allies. As we have done & with all coalition Countries since 15AUG if anyone from our allies needs a seat out we will take them. The east west runway configuration has allowed us to double our flights now that we know how much fuel to save ahead when dead head landing for a combat takeoff. Whoever came up with that should get an xtra cookie @ midrats tonight. As always please hit the head before boarding & as our sad pilot will tell you prior to the lights out takeoff please sit down & return the tray table to the upright position.

As I asked earlier, why exactly would Russia want the baltics, or a chunk of Poland?

Clearly these countries understand their situation, and seem to be arming themselves. They would receive air support, potentially on a massive scale.

Such a conflict would not be without casualties, and there is always the risk of defeat for Russia......

Really the big 4 are simply to big and able to inflict severe damage on each other, so whats the point.

Who on earth wants more people without jobs, or an energy grid that needs updating, or roads that are worn out?

Terrible but since a few days this was so expected by intelligence agencies. Pretty rare that Intel manage to give the precise location of the next impending attack, although it’s well understood that the Airport was an easy target. It’s packed like never these days.

RIP Marines, also other casualties.

Regarding the mentions earlier of possibilities of some sort of mortar attack on the airport itself: Does anyone know if any C-RAM assets are deployed? Or, are C-RAMs appropriate for such a location?
