Incompetence is synonym with nearly every intervention the US has been involved in. From Vietnam, Nicaragua, Iraq to Afghanistan. In stead of blaming wokeness for all of this, you should ask yourself: why does the US always end up with the most corrupt and incompetent side in these kind of conflicts?
Because the standard solution to foreign problems of most western governments is to throw money at the problem and near limitless amounts of money without accountability invites corruption.

As Apposed to sending in your own troops to massacre the locals….

The first bit is securing several sites to operate from and enabling them to run ops. Given that this is the world's largest military this shouldn't be much of a problem in the logistical sense, but I thought the same about evacuating a couple thousand foreigner diplomats and translators so yeah ...

Incompetence throughout the Pentagon and WH. But such brave inclusiveness all throughout the forces and such kindly worded tweets
Unfortunately, SecDef. Austin and Gen. Milley are too busy studying CRT and White Rage to have time for that. They are a complete disgrace.

Likely going to be the case, and reportedly already is. The talibans have been going from villages to villages to cut throat of anyone who’s helped « foreigners » and NATO troops over the years.

Those so-called « Moderate Talibans » entering the cities and Kabul yesterday are to be trusted as much as the « Moderate Islamists » that were supported by Obama in Syria.

There’s an evident will from the Taliban to polish a bit their pretty poor past reputation, personally I don’t believe it.

I'm skeptical too, but it appears Iran, China and Russia have made contact with the Taliban within the past few months/years and have bought into this new moderate Taliban selling point.

On the other hand, the Taliban has possibly learned from its previous mistakes of directly posing a threat to its neighboring countries and going on a genocide/persecution spree against its minorities.

But countries like Iran/China/Russia/India would be foolish to not plan for a contingency in case the Taliban does pose a threat.

In stead of blaming wokeness for all of this, you should ask yourself: why does the US always end up with the most corrupt and incompetent side in these kind of conflicts? Why does the US never truly understands the country and people with whom it fights? Why does it always abruptly ends support for its allies and leaves them at their own fate? How come it never manages to effectively translate battlefield gains into concrete political successes? Etc.

There is something rotten in US political-military culture.
As a citizen of Denmark I sincerely appreciate the involvement of the US Military helping to remove the German invaders from our Country & helping us return to a peaceful self governing society during WW2. Loyalty to your homeland & willingness to fight & die for her has always been a problem in Afghanistan & Iraq. The USA & her coalition soldiers gave it their best noble effort to train the Afghans to stand up against terrorist thugs with perverted beliefs & gave them 20+ years of relative peace but apparently it was not to be. If & when Bagram Airbase is secured I & many others will gladly standby the Afghan people to bomb the S**t out of the taliban where ever they hide. This isn't over by a long shot.

No more refueling on the tarmac so you can lift off with heavier loads. Now you have to refuel in mid air. Not the best tactical situation but glad there are xtra tankers around & appreciate the airspace being open over Pakistan & Iran [with transponders turned off]. Airmen will be studying this operation for years........

New employees of the Main Directorate of National Security of Afghanistan (the official name has been retained), they are also militants of the 313rd commando battalion of the Taliban movement.

Do you think Bagram will be retaken?

Civilians on the runways @ KBL even on the military side are almost impossible to clear without committing what we think to be a war crime & scraping body parts out of your wheel wells upon landing is gonna leave a few with nightmares. We really need an alternate. Bagram is a lot easier to secure & the runway is long enough to give you a safety factor to lift off when over loaded. This is only going to get worse, a lot worse. Too many people on lists that need to leave & too little time. The organizers are doing the best they can with the plan that was kinda thrown together. Normally on a dust off flight you would check the passengers for xplosives. No time for that & hoping that won't be an issue. The bomb sniffing pups are a little skittish these days.

What is also a bit worrying, is watching a video of the taliban at a border crossing telling the Paki soldiers that they are next. Since the Paki government has helped the US over the years this should be interesting, considering that Pakistan has nukes. That was a worry years ago that their government could fall and nukes could go missing.
