Things will be a lot safer & orderly once we work out the rule book with the Chinese....we may be trading Greenland oil & Danish pork, they need both, haha. Really hoping to finish before the snow flies. Don't know I can stand another winter of finding half frozen children on the side of the road.

But, it’s a question of getting out local folks with visas, particularly a female who worked for us who is in late 2nd trimester pregnancy.

She’s on the clock air travel wise.

So looking at options including ground border exit then connecting air.

Most with visas can get out a lot easier now. She'll need to travel with her husband or male relative & there are fewer checkpoints outside & away from the larger cities. A few dollars or snacks for bribes wouldn't hurt either. Good luck & keep us posted.

We had a KamAir charter flight with 400 souls onboard out of Mazur today that was denied landing rights in Pakistan after takeoff [politics between Afghanistan & Pakistan went fubar over the weekend]. Finally got clearance into Abu Dhabi IA, UAE who rolled out the red carpet, 60 day visas upon arrival & welcomed 400 sleepy & hungry passengers with local transport to luxury lodging & food fit for a King. Denmark & Germany in Europe & Qatar & UAE in the ME have really stepped up their game & cooperation in this mess. God bless them all.

There has been a lot of weiner waving & chest thumping between Afghanistan & Pakistan since Sept 1. Pakistan misses the $Billions of US dollars the US et al had been paying them to use their border crossings & airports to deliver supplies to US Bases in Afghanistan. Pakistan offered to run Kabul Int'l & Mazar for a high fee & the taliban are fresh out of cash & when the ticket prices went nuts on PIA flights & wouldn't lower them to pre taliban takeover levels the Paks got all butthurt & denied air & landing rights to KamAir [Afghan airline] in/over Pakistan. & you heard it here 1st, China has been calling the Paks names & casting dispersions on the size of the average Pak's dicks. Pakistan doesn't want to fk with Afghanistan right now, there is a new super power that doesn't tolerate shenanigans folks with nukes next door.

China is getting reading to bend Afghanistan over for their mining rights. If Congo's agreement with China is any example to mine cobalt. $6 Billion promised in 2008 for roads, schools, hospitals, jobs, airports....to be paid out of the mining profits. So far Congo has seen zero in infrastructure. Soon they keep saying. They tried the same with Greenland for the largest oil reserve. They literally showed up at our PM's office unannounced the day after we discovered oil wanting to be our partner. They have 1.5B people to feed & water & they're in panic mode securing food & supplies.

I honestly love the Afghan people & all my kids there & only want a good & safe future for them. I have some history with the Chinese & their ways of doing business. I even think the taliban, while they have their perverted ways, are honestly trying to keep the Country together. I deal with a few middle management taliban that seem to be good guys. [I could have 3 more wives & 15 to 20 more children if I converted]. They're worried too about keeping all these people safe, feed & warm this winter. They just don't have the experience in running things. Wish we could have done a better job fixing it for all these people.

There are several US based NGOs that are still organizing evacuations with Euro based military operations. We've all asked the US StateDept to furnish a complete list of American names & phone contact info of their people that need to get out of Afghanistan. We can only assume the US doesn't want to media to know the total #'s they've left behind. Some of us are using a grid system master list supplied by Country of origin & once we transport out everyone out of an area we rarely backtrack. Food insecurity is getting to be a major issue for evacuees. The can't leave their hidey holes to run up to the local fast food for dinner. It's already getting cold. We're almost 2 months into this mission we continue to beg for names & contact info.

Just crossed the border minutes ago!

My female interpreter(nearly 6 months pregnant with 1st kid), her husband, and her sister.

They should make it to their new home before late 3rd trimester pregnancy becomes a major travel problem.

Slow burn here from the US STATEDEPT spending time on pronouns. No email answers for going on 3 days. Lives are at stake here still. Honestly, they've moved on & ignoring the issue their gov't created. Now the bad news, a nation that appears wrapped up in warm fuzzy touchy feely stuff is a nation that's an easy soft target for terrorism. I worry about this a lot lately. We haven't picked up an American in 2 days now, I know there are out there.
