Photos Afghan Armed Forces (Prior to 2021)

Due to our route yesterday our Command flew in our wives/husbands for a day off at a beautiful mountain resort. Hot shower, clean clothes/uniforms, awesome food & slept in a real bed with clean sheets next to my wife. We've been at this since the middle of August [30 day rotation]. Got away a little late this morning & could sorta honestly blame it on fog & not wanting to put a scratch on Qatar's C-17 loner, haha. Buzzy was becoming a dull boy. Should be good for another week.

Well deserved! Thanks for your work!

Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin said they would only support an Afghan government that includes all ethnic groups of Afghanistan including Tajiks.

He also said the Taliban conducted air strikes on Tajiks in Panjshir with the aid of a third country (Pakistan).

Is it time now to disassemble Pakistan ?

Who is exceptional?

Russia - cant get anything into service

China - developing alot of tech, but very low experience of combat, and home politics are a big unknown for themselves, let alone the rest of the world.

Anyone else?.....

I would argue, that when faced with an existential threat, the USA would come together, as would the G20 etc.

Dont let all the bickering and rights to take a turkey on a plane fool you. Yanks especially are not very nuanced, and they go from peace, to war, there is no in-between, like say the UK does so well.

The relations between Taliban and Ayatollahs aren't very cordial.

A street In Tehran, was named "Panjshir Alley" while Panjshir was opposing Taliban.

Also, Iran's Supreme National Security Council issued an important decree on the format of relations with the Taliban. The council instructed the government and foreign ministry to deny recognition of the Taliban until further notice.

The Administration is still insisting that this was a legitimate killing.

If not, there are also questions concerning the refusal to identify the target and the failure to reveal these serious questions over the possible mistaken attack.

Thousands of people are trying to leave the Afghan province of Panjshir. Residents are afraid of becoming victims of hostilities or falling under the hot hand of the Taliban, who do not stand on ceremony with Afghans suspected of having links with the militia of Ahmad Masud.

A video appeared on the network in which the Taliban fighters shot a man who was trying to leave the dangerous region.

Canadians still like old school clearance better than written over ACARs these days. Still quite a few Kanucks, Germans & Americans on vacation in the mountains.

I know a guy who could with a drone.

I mean, using a drone to "remote start" the thing.

Only works once though.

I can't imagine the helicopter likes people lounging on it's rotor blades.
They apparently haven't made it to the section on delamination of the blades because someone stood or hung on the carbon fibers. That's probably the least of their problems on keeping their fleet of helicopters flying.

The 1st group of the Afghan pilots & their families have begun the flight from Uzbekistan direct to UAE. They will not be returning to Afghanistan to rejoin the new gov't as the taliban demanded & promised to forgive. The taliban even pinkie swore.

Any word on what happens to the aircraft. Word is that Biden promised to return them to the Taliban.

Haven't heard yet & a smart bet is it won't be finalized until every last ANA pilot is safely out of Uzbekistan. The taliban are getting desperate for pilots & maintainers. They keep upping the offers for trained people. They're real worried about attacks by air [& they probably should be].

Without thinking, for lunch we stopped for some chinese noodles we all had a craving for. [carbs] & the full hijab with face covering is now mandatory for women. Probably the last time these ladies eat in public. Mohammed missed that I guess.

A phenomenon I've been seeing for quite awhile during evacuating Afghan children & their one allowable back pack that they can carry. What they carry? Books & maybe an apple & their best shoes. Books, valuable books of learning. Hope for their future. I wonder what my own children would carry in their back packs if they had to leave their Country of birth forever. [no longer use that bus btw].

Afghan women continue to rally. After Kunduz, Balkh and Kabul, a group of women today staged a demonstration of support for the new Afghan government in Nangarhar province.
