2,000 Afghani dollars is about $25 USD per week. Not enuf to feed your family. Banks are running out of money, businesses are closed, people aren't getting a paycheck. We need to finish all exfil in the next week or 2. Still a lot of passport holders sprinkled all over with little chance of making it to any remote fields or major airports. The taliban are checking documentation on the few international flights that are up & running.

I think they will do it via Pakistan proxy.

Pakistan will certainly want that, and probably push for it.

But China isn’t dumb, and they‘ve seen how Afghanistan has turned out after Pakistan insisted on all US financial support for the Muj flow thru Pakistan.

China would know it was a terrible mistake for the US to funnel money for the Muj thru Pakistan as they supplied a good chunk of the weapons bought with that money.

China will know Pakistan’s options are narrowing.
