This is a very good documentary about the training of the BW Heeresbergführer, unfortunately it's only in German.

The KSK does use it, but apparently the HK21 is too complex and expensive to serve as a an everyday infantry support weapon. In fact, the MG3 is even five years younger than the HK21 which was introduced to the market in 1961. Anyhow, the MG3 is now being phased out in favour of the HK MG5.

"Groupe Militaire de Haute Montagne" of the French Army.

This is a very special unit, running under the EMHM, it is about ten men strong, all experienced military mountain guides and alpinists. Their mission is to "innovate, transmit and shine", to innovate military mountaineering and cold weather survival skills, without any limits being set, to poole training capabilities and expertise and launch ground breaking expeditions and thus enhance the French army's standing. They have strong ties to many other military units and institutions all over the world as well as to the civilian mountaineering scene. The unit is very "special" and has a "laid back" approach to the wear of uniform and other military standards. In many pics you will see civilian mountaineers next to the members.
