Project 23550 Patrol Ship/Icebreaker Ivan Papanin (400) These vessels can function as patrol ships with icebreaker capabilities and are armed with a 76mm gun, four 12.7mm machine guns, two 30mm CIWS and eight Kalibr cruise missiles. The ship is scheduled to be commissioned later this year.
They can be armed with the containerized Kalibr missile system however, that pair of quad launching self sufficient containers are 12m long and effectively take up the majority of its multi-mission aft deck. The ships will likely not carry these weapons aboard unless required as they interfere with the cargo area below the flight deck alongside taking up considerable space aft used for other more common roles.
