The Leander class general-purpose frigate HMS Jupiter (F60) launches an Exocet surface-to-surface missile sometime in the 1980s.
Jupiter was modernized between 1980 and 1983 when she received both the Exocet SSM and the Seawolf SAM at a whopping cost of £70m (£369m in 2023).
She was in commission with the RN from 1969 to 1992.

U.S. Naval Technical Mission to Japan, “Ship and Related Targets: Japanese Submarine Operations”

Our enemy counterpart: large boats, difficult to handle submerged, some twice as big as ours; complicated and inadequate controls; crowded living conditions and a completely foreign sanitation outlook; excessive vibration; inadequate silencing of emergency machinery; wholesale violation of safe submarining construction practices, according to our standards, The wonder was that the Japanese submariners operated at all, much less took their unhandy ships to sea and sank some of our largest men-of-war.
