Interesting, will there be a possibility of manufacturing that rifle under license in India?
Highly doubt that, because licensed manufacturing requires huge order & Transfer of Technology. India bought 72,400 in the first order & decided to go for repeat order months after all guns from 1st order were delivered. But final pricing negotiations for repeat 72,400 order are still on. So no hopes of licensed manufacturing.

Instead 6,50,000 AK-203 will be made in India for Army with TOT & 1,00,000 rifles will come directly from Russia. It will take 1-1.5 years more to make it completely indigenous. Once Army's needs are fulfilled it will offered to Paramilitary & local police.

Indian Air Force ordered 72,000 pieces of older variant AK-103 in a separate deal.
