Well, to have or not to have...
Given the numbers originally built, there is probably 50 years of spares left in storage, somewhere.

Or 60 year old technicians are being asked if they kept their training manuals.....

Probably not that difficult to integrate a more current radar - UK managed to build a SAM system using air to air missiles, so when you really need to do something, it can be done, in weeks.

I was dismissive of the Dniepr crossings. But now I wonder.

Ukraine is advancing from its bridgehead across the Dnipro River which is proving to be a growing problem for Russia.

It keeps popping up in increasingly higher profile and better sourced reports. Too early to call this a full blown "Thing".

Obvious problems in sustaining across this river. Heading into the mud season, to be followed by winter. And of course about a hundred other things.

But one thing is a solid fact now. The Ukrainians have turned this operation into a bigger problem than would ever have seemed possible.

For what must have started small, I have to ask why Russia has not been able to defeat it.

What does this tell us about Russia’s situation.

This is a brown flight suit moment.

All of the logistics routes are covered by at least one weapons system.

They can travel via the land bridge and get Himars'ed either on the way (ATACMS) or in forward depots (GMLRS).
They can travel through Crimea, but that poses the same problems as the land bridge and most of the bridges are degraded to various extents.
Additionally their main supply hubs in both Russia and Ukraine can be hit by Igor's modified Neptun.
They can try aerial resupply, but it will only provide limited capacity and faces risks from multi spectrum air and SAM threats.
Travelling by sea they either get hit by AShM or drones, or blown up by Storm Shadow/SCALP in port. The Sea of Azov is slightly safer, but again -> Storm Shadow.

It's of course only a matter of time before Igor uses his welder on the Storm Shadow and converts it into the supersonic stealth Sea Shadow AShM.

With a navy consisting of coast guard cutters and rubber dingies Ukraine is over half way towards enacting a naval blockade of Crimea and the Krasonodar oblast 🤣

This is how RuZZia bought the West with enablers. Seipel got 600000 € he wrote a book about Putin and worked for the NDR a public German broadcaster to whom he didn't disclose his secret income.

More Cyprus connections should start putting pressure on Cyprus and it's banks. Cyprus is basically a shady financial operating place in the EU. Also lots of dubious internet companies reside in Cyprus.

Time is closing door after door.
