4 April 1943. USAAF B-24D Liberator 'Lady be Good' disappeared with its 9 crew on its first WW2 combat mission. The wreck was discovered 440 mi inland in the Libyan Desert on 9 November 1958. The crew died of thirst trying to walk out.
