Gladiator 1 is much better than Glad 2. The other is "restricted in your country per copyright issues."

I watched that last night, too. I enjoyed the first but this felt like a very different film - far, far funnier.
Yes, the interaction with the brothers had me lol-ing a few times.

Many "oldies" you post @colin traveller are really interesting. I got the opportunity to watch a version of 1984 that I had not seen (or remembered).

The "flying missile" is also great where you really see the debuts of missiles in warfare.

The Phoenician Scheme.

Latest Wes Anderson and I was rather hesitant considering his last two movies.

I didn't quite enjoy Asteroid City, and The French Dispatch though good didn't manage to hit the spot for me.

The Phoenician Scheme was alright, more similar to The Grand Budapest Hotel, though not as good. The cast is good, but it does not necessarily make the movie, the story has to follow and it felt like it was lacking.

Moonrise Kingdom felt more compelling, for instance.

Anyway, a good Wes Anderson, but not his best nor his most memorable.

Very much an action thriller the first time around, this was almost a buddy comedy.
I did not like it, to be honest.
Yes, it was well-made and had some moments (the generic ending being not one of them).

But the sequel completely ignored that Braxton was a murderous scumbag in the first movie, killing innocent people—one time even by coercing the victim into killing himself with sadistic threats against his family. That ruined my immersion a bit, because the sequel failed to establish why a guy like that would have a change of heart and go rescue trafficked kids.

I mean, establish beyond buddy comedy tropes à la "can't let you do this alone!" Felt like retconning to me.

...They would struggle to make a film like this nowadays . A Sublime classic .. A mix of American and British cast ...with Tyrone Power in the Lead role ...

Eden

I'll have to do some research on the story, but despite being actually based on real life events and an actual documented story, it felt as if it was straight out of a play something à-la "Huis Clos" (No Exit) by Jean Paul Sartre.

The various groups of characters involved felt so archetypal the movie gave out a feeling of being some sort reflection on Humanity, Mankind, Human Society, Human Condition, Social Interactions, and such.

It is fairly curious, but not to the point of feeling unsettling.
