Movie / TV What's the last movie you watched

Captain America Brave New World.

It's... it's bad.

It's very bad.

It's... yeah... can we stop making movies like that?

"acomplete unknown" The Bob Dylan flick. 9/10

Close to the truth or not, you get great music really and the only controversy you have is the "electric instruments are terrible". Bob Dylan did not care about politics and they kept the film clear of that even with Joan Baez being very present in the film. Johnny Cash is quite fun in the movie when he appears. Great voices, great melodies...Great sixties vibe.

Apparently, the actors sang the songs themselves. Impressive.

The Gorge

Interesting...different. Not quite what I was expecting but ended up enjoying it. A bit of a sci-fi element. I've come to enjoy Miles Teller and I've been enjoying Anya Taylor-Joy for a while, so. I should have known with her in it, there would be a horror element.

All three Hobbits and all three Lord of the Rings, all special editions. Not in one day but was worth it.
I try to load up on those movies while I'm packing/repacking my gear just in the days before a backpacking trip in the mountains. I love to play back the scenes in my mind while out on the march. Much better having some horrid song jangling in your brain!

Complete contrast to the German film ...

The Enemy Below, Away All Boats, and Mr. Roberts.

The Enemy Below was based on a true story out of the three of 'em, and if you are into things based on real events, you really should read the story of the USS Buckley. Absolute balls and much respect. What the movie doesn't show is that the Buckley was boarded by armed Germans from U-66 and were still onboard when the U-66 sank for good. The mostly unarmed crew of the Buckley used empty shell casings, flare guns, bare hands, even USN mug china and WON with no casualties.
