Sri Lanka and U.S. Navy Special Warfare operators exchange tactics during a military-to-military contact exchange in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, July 5, 2023. Face-to-face exchanges with our allies and partners are the foundation of our bilateral relationships, and bolster understanding in the region that we are going to be a reliable partner in both good and bad times.

US NAVY SEAL K9 Chief Hutch.jpg

Chief Hutch, a Belgian Malinois combat assault dog trained to detect explosives and other dangerous materials, recently retired from SEAL Team Four. Hutch’s career spanned five years and he deployed twice to support missions in Africa. Hutch’s retirement also reminds us that we are concluding the “Dog Days” of summer which, according to the Farmer’s Almanac, ends today and coincides with the rising of the “Dog Star” known more formally as Sirius.
