NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE RELEASES NAMES OF LOST TEAMMATES AT SEA

CORONADO, Calif. -- The search and rescue efforts to locate Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers and Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram concluded Jan. 21.

On the evening of Jan. 11, Chambers, 37, and Ingram, 27, both assigned to a West Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit, were reported missing at sea while they were conducting a night-time seizure of a vessel illegally transporting advanced lethal aid from Iran to resupply Houthi forces in Yemen.

Joint Training in the Mediterranean! Special Warfare Operators and Combatant-Craft Crewmen teamed up with the Cypriot Navy Underwater Demolition Team (MYK) near historic Limassol, Cyprus.

Under the moon’s watchful gaze, they deployed cutting-edge Combatant Craft Medium boats from the transport ship USNS Yuma (T-EPF-8).

These sleek vessels raced toward a vessel of interest, facilitated boarding operations, and executed low-light close-quarters-clearance and site-exploitation drills.

Capt. Bill Gallagher, Naval Special Warfare Group TWO Commodore, emphasized that this collaboration transcends mere cooperation—it’s a crucible of excellence. Together, they reinforce their capabilities and send a resolute message: Aggression will be met with unwavering resolve.

Naval Special Warfare stands as the nation’s elite maritime special operations force, extending the Fleet’s reach and securing access for the Joint Force in both competition and conflict.
