Does anyone still make MP-5? Can't go into details, but SMGs are badly needed by combat troops and special ops teams who actually do most of the fighting.

HK does, MKE in Turkey does, POF in Pakistan just to name a few. 14 countries have licenses by HK to produce the MP5 (some of them since decades like Iran). France (MAS) UK (Enfield) Mexico(SEDENA)

There are a hell of a lot of MP5s. Would still always go for the german ones. I have handled a couple to be precise a french, german (couple of those) and a turkish semi (zenith). Even though MKEK in Turkey uses the exact same machines as germany did in the 60s 70s 80s the QC is not comparable to german ones.

Ohh yeah without going through the whole import trouble Ukraine could simply buy 9mm Tavor, Uzis by RPC Fort or let Zbroyar manufacture a 9mmSB AR (which is simple)

The only thing i know which is pretty unique to the MP5 is that they practically last forever. Had one in my hand that had more than 38.000 documented rounds through having been manufactured in 1972 at the height of the RAF

edit: yeah just found out that 38.000 is nothing compared to that theres one MP5 documented to have had more than 500.000 put through it (still running) holy crap...

Okay we vehemently disagree, I respect your opinion and I will stop after this post.
Just one thing I want to give on the way because your situation really hits me; the people you're dealing with and taking opinions and 'lessons' from, besides VERY few, like single exceptions and obv proper NATO instructors, are not really the cream of the crop of their respective armed forces .... and I don't attack their fighting spirit and personal devotion and effort, but seeing what type of assessments you apparently get from those people, you Ukrainians are probably better off trying to actualy employ or hire the ones who are active, legit instructors and gone through years of special training and preparation in several countries on top of serving their time and in conflicts. The fact we can't realisticaly spare any of that breed ( though I don't see how the Geo gov for instance would refuse that regardless of own needs ), yet for some magical reason suddenly dozens of 'experts', many former UNM associates pop up in Ukraine, says volumes. Just a healthy advice. It's all personal, less professional opinion. Again, I'm not questioning any of those people's devotion. It's just evidently not a realistic source of situation assessment, if that's really what you're getting.

I'm not a Ukrainian citizen. Just got "sucked" into the situation. It has been suggested to the Ukrainian government by multiple parties that they should hire the type of professionals you are talking about. This idea got no traction. I suspect because a lot of high ranking officers wouldn't feel safe about their posts if serious advisers were to come in.
