They are being used the regions bordering with Iraq, Syria and Iran where illegal inter-border acitivities are highly occurs. Also their main duty is to protect their villiages if they contact with hostile elements untill the security forces arrives. Apart from these they provide their expetise on local terrain and sometimes language (since most of them are Kurdish) to other security forces for the areas they positioned .

A brilliant tactic used by the Police Traffic Control Department for a long time, back then they were putting the retired police cars on the side of the roads for that matter, but nowadays they have more realistic car models with working lights and siren et. all.
