Politics Syrian Civil War

This should be a joke because the absurdity of such situation would be comical at least and at best it would be a great illustration to the whole situation right now. However, in case it isn't a joke I should say that they physically would not be able to do that because it happened near Qamishli in Hakasa province, in the far North-Eastern part of Syria. That said, US troops are in much more safe enviroment than whoever is in the Idlib province right now

It was. But apparently I overestimated the comic effect. Cheers.

"Turkey asked the U.S. to deploy two Patriot missile defense-batteries to deter any further attacks, Bloomberg news reported."

Btw, there was another confrontation between US and Russian military. One random bystander was almost run over:

Russian and US troops so close...in such a volatile environment...

Thank God the Russian vehicle did'nt crash in a turkish "observation" post.
Nothing at all in this, just lads playing "bump a car".......worse than this was a daily occurrence in Berlin in the 60s through to the 80's, not to mention 10,000t cruisers belting into each other at sea ;)

But TAF was so near that they shared same bombs and TAF lost 2 soliders +5 wia. So those "rebels" have really close support from Turkey. They are so close that they are practically one.

And the "rebels" that TAF support have beheaded several SAF soldiers in that attack ( in that very same attack in which TAF supprted them) yesterday.

Interesting... it seems Erdogan is finally having some awareness as he qualified the current situation, following the botched attack from Turkey and FSA, in Idlib as a "war".

Huh, who would have guessed it was a war being conducted...

And now Erdogan announced Turkey would not withdraw from Idlib.

The Russian military is also denying claims that "scores of refugees are fleeing Syria’s Idlib province and moving towards the Turkish border due to battles between the Syrian Army and terrorists in the area".
Moscow also accused Turkey of failing on its promise to clear the de-escalation zone of jihadist groups. But since Turkey is using jihadist groups as proxies...

Syria will be a bottomless pit for Erdogan. And soon, Libya.

Russia let the Turks come in. They should have known better. This is the only thing Moscow really messed up in Syria.

But Russia had no authority in preventing Turkey from coming in. In fact almost everybody told Turkey not to come in despite Turkey's seemingly reasonable justifications (fighting PKK).

Also... how was Russia supposed to prevent Turkey from invading Syria? Iirc, at that time, Turkey-Russia's relations were improving (thus the S400 deal and Erdogan saying he didn't need the US anymore).

If it is somebody's fault, I am not sure it is Russia's. Or at least Russia's fault alone. If the blame had to be put on somebody, it should be on a collective that had failed to control Turkey's aggressive urges.
And I even doubt anybody would have been able to stop Turkey... when Erdogan wants something, he gets it.

Turkey´s engagement in Syria was done with Russian consent. Without it, Turkey would not have moved a finger...especially after downing a russian jet.

Turkey´s presence was accepted and agreements fell into place determining where the Turks can stay or not. The "buffer zone" around Idlib is part of those agreements.

Wait... with Russian consent?

Then why has everybody been blaming the US and Trump for... Turkey's engagement... in Syria... after the US left the area?

As for "Russia's consent", Turkey has proven time and time again they don't need the consent of anybody.

Trump was correct to pull US troops out. Let the Syrians, Turks, Russians and Iranians fight over that 30 mile strip of sand.

Turkish army and NLF trying to hold back the Iranian-Russian proxies.

More like Russia's war in Syria was done with Turkish consent. Erdogan have stronger cards on this region, he could turn the Russian military efforts there into logistical nightmare. But he seems to desire good relations with Putin, while Putin himself is pushing his luck on this.
