Politics Syrian Civil War

Syria is not a US friend. Neither is Russia or ISIS or Iran. The US would prefer for oil revenue to go to the Kurds. Not hard to understand.

LOL, only the Kurds get the oil money. Everyone knows the Kurds have their own pipelines, tankers, refineries and have a strong distribution network.

We will see what happens. However I doubt the Kurds who now know who they need to ask to get protection from ISIS will defend those refineries against the Damascus government. I am pretty sure they will ask the US to leave the only thing they are protecting with the life of US soldiers: oil business for US companies.

Now I get it, it’s like when you leave home, you get to the office, and realise you left your laptop at home, and go back to get it.

Then you get home and find out the neighbours you hate, have taken out the fence, and have moved into your house.

Trump forgot about the oil.

I don't know what the Kurd's distribution system is. If you are implying US companies make profit on that, so much the better.

I don't think US forces pulled out of the oil field.

...

Trump forgot about the oil.

I would imagine that he decided to abandon the Kurds to their fate, and then his business friends reminded him they were doing good business with the oil in Syria...So he changed his mind...until he changes his mind again...With Trump, the last guy who speaks seems to be always right.

As mistaken and unclear as it was, the missions in Afghanistan and Iraq were officially to protect Americans from a foe abroad. With this one, the US soldiers are really simply staying to secure some money.

I think it's more like preventing money from going to people the US doesn't like.

So much win in this post
You can try as hard as you want to wrap it with the shinniest reason you find, it is just plain theft
You are not friend with Syria or Russia or Iran but afaik you are not at war with them
so it cannot be considered as a spoil of war
and pray tell how the money will reach the kurds ?
Tell me, how in regard to international laws, you can find a justification to ...that ?

I ll tell you what 's the matter
it is not to avoid ISIS to get oil again (or you have to assume that ISIS is not defeated and your weaseling out was just that .... )
it is to certainly deprive the Syrian state of money it needs for rebuilding (yes, its army, political police and civilian infrastructures)
it is possibly to deprive Iran from an oil trade road up to Tureky

But in any case, it comes as a plain theft. Because as said above you are not at war with Syria
To conclude, this move gives a wonderful PR/propaganda matter to anybody who opposes you around the world. At least, from now, you'd understand why other countries don't buy your 'for freedom and democracy' and assume that anything you do is done for oil
Well played

Make up your mind! You're upset if the US leaves Syria and you're upset if the US stays in Syria. LOL!

I don't know what it is that you don't understand? The US does not want ISIS, Iran, Syria, Russia, etc., to profit from the oil. The US has no issue with the Kurds profiting from the oil. Simple as that.

But just to make sure the Kurds benefit from it, you keep 20% of the troops dispatched to Syria posted there. Just in the case maybe the Kurds would want to sell it to someone else.

Maybe they do by the way...I mean after having been stabbed in the back, maybe they don´t want to go through US companies.

What US companies are they going through?

the end of the day the oil belongs to the Syrian Arab Republic and no one else ... as for Russia and Iran wanting Syrian oil ... i'll think you'll find both Russia and Iran have larger reserves than America ... what happens when you run out of fracked oil and your water table is totally polluted ... don't expect water from Europe ...you were warned about the consequences of fracking .. California's ground water is at the bare minimal levels so much so large areas of California has sunk down .... are you gonna do the same as you did with oil invade countries to steal there water ??

The Syrian Kurds are Syrian, no? Don't worry, I've heard no plans to invade countries for their water. You're just being silly.

If nothing else, at least an evil scumbag got shot in the face.
The article you have quoted says he detonated his suicide vest. To put it shortly, he will not enjoy his virgins if his balls are blown off.

Multiple sources say al-Baghadi has been killed (for the third or fourth time) but it has not been confirmed yet.
