Firearms Showcase Your Firearms

Cool pics so far! Here's my M1A Socom with aftermarket GI op rod, trigger group and stock cut for fun switch. (no fun switch, though) And my semi RPD. Having seen these in Viet Nam with handguard showing signs of having been afire, I never shoot more than one belt before leaving it set for an hour or so.

A woman at the range once asked me what I do with a belt fed. "Reload less frequently," sez I! :p

My "PS90" which is actually a Ruger 10/22 with a HTA case.

And with sights and a torch fitted for possum/rabbit hunting

It's a little laser beam for going after pests. I just place the crosshairs between their eyes and so long as they're within 100 meters they're done for. Suppressor makes it very quiet too, I just run standard CCI .22 through it.

Is Jacinta going to get a look at that? The brother in law reckons his AR10 is gone.

At this stage 10/22 are safe, but yeah your brother in laws AR10 is gone, just like my M14 clone.

Actually I'll add a caveat to that, they are gone unless you are a licensed pest controller or you can get your collectors license.

They have a new firearms law in the pipeline in my neck of the woods. DISASTER!!! Our f***ing government, a coalition of Green Party, Socialists and Liberals!! If it goes through in the present form I will have to destroy, at my own expenses ,the better part of my collection, which is huge. It was also meant to be an investment to pay for my kids tuition once they will go to university! I will have a serious financial problem sending them all off to study. :-(

I know he often knocks off a few deer for pest control purposes. I'm assuming there is a govt course and fee that needs to be completed/paid?

He reckons they'll probably tie that loop hole up so only dudes running it full time as a business get the exemption.
He has been known to be overly pessimistic at times though...

Or if it gets buried somewhere in a plastic pipe.

I've got a .22 converter kit for my AR15. Might claim it as a .22 semi and therefore compliant under the new rules.

Me and some mates are also looking at what the "pest control company" thing requires. We do have three farms we regularly visit and cull pests on.

Galil ARM 5.56 select fire, Russian AK-47 Type 3, Finnish Valmet Rk 62. The Russians, of course, got the AK ball rolling. The latest iteration and absolutely the best is the new Galil ACE. The Thompson is just a beautiful, old school work of art that makes the .45 ACP on full auto feel like a .22.

Great photos thanks for sharing them. I once went to Denver where my brother lived at the time and we both went to an indoor range and fired the Glock 9mm, awesome day that was. He lives in Las Vegas now so hope to go and do some shooting with him in the future.

Late reply on this one, but if you ever do it I'd genuinely recommend the Vegas Machine Gun Experience if you've not been over there already - https://machinegunexperience.com/shooting-packages/

I used them a few years ago and the prices seemed competitive with other companies, the staff were really friendly and helpful and they'll also pick you up from your hotel and then drop you back afterwards.

so you guys really just give up your firearms just like that? so weird
Its a privilege here not a right so a bit like a drivers license it can be taken off you.
I'm sure there are some legal challenges brewing in the wings, there has been a lot of legal clarification going on and legal opinions being sought.
Which if they had of actually taken their time to consult properly probably could of been sorted out.
Still no formal word on compensation.........

But any way, here is a farewell pic of my Norinco M14.

It;'s the same here, bro. Difference is nobody lets go of their firearms here, so much so that the government is forced to give amnesties so that people will register their unlicensed firearms. Call it passive resistance but just because some elected official dont like your guns doesnt mean you suffer. After all if you give up your firearms that easily, do you really deserve to own one?

I understand the sentiment, but for me there is not much point having that gun if I can no longer shoot it without worrying who is watching and if that will cause me problems. In saying that my intention is to eventually get my collectors license so i can get much more interesting versions.
Plus I'll probably use the payout to get myself a Remmington 700 ?................ and I'll still have my pumpaction and my enfield.

LOVE my LWRC short stroke piston AR. Accurate and the cleanest rifle I shoot. This SPR is a true LWRC made before Colt bought them out. Contrast that to the select fire Chi-Com AK I owned. I have to remember that AK's were intended for massed suppressive fire, not squirrel hunting. Kind of fun to shoot at first, but not hitting targets is a bore.
