Romanian squad in the field. A rarely seen Romanian-made, folding stock version of the Model-1964 (RPK).
It is not the Model-1991 (RPK-74) since this one is in 7.62x39mm, which model is this known as by the Romanians?
*Not sure why the Romanians picked this type of folding stock for a squad automatic weapon!? Since you fire this weapon in the prone position from the bipod, in sustained firing mode. Which will wear your cheek down!

As Droopy mentioned, is a custom modified RPK used mostly by some Mountain troops or paratroopers. In this case of Mountain Troops, since they need to move through rough terrain, lots of vegetation, might need to climb on or rapel down on rocks and high cliffs, a shorter weapon is more comfortable to wear and use.
The recoil isn't any bigger than a normal AKM assault rifle, actually smaller due to the bipod and longer barrel/bit heavier rifle so its quite bearable
