On October 16, 1964, during the first nuclear test in China (code designation "596"), a cavalry unit was run in gas masks and protective uniforms. The Chinese doctrine assumed a nuclear strike before the advance of ground forces. After a nuclear explosion (the formation of a "mushroom"), the territory was to be occupied by ground units, among the first - the cavalry.

I hope the US Space Force X37 in orbit since May 2020 was placed in an appropriate position to observe it, perhaps even including an upper atmospheric skip.
