View attachment 436126DDG-40 had already been taken in the international nomenclature so we got 38, 39 & 41. Brisbane (41) was my first sea draft in 1975.

What do you mean "Taken"? By the USN?

Does that mean there could not be 2 ships having the same pennant, despiste being from diferent nations?

I know NATO atributes specific pennants to each diferent member's Navy, but Australia does not belong to NATO
