ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 31, 2019) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Dragon Whales of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 28 places cargo on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD5) during a vertical replenishment between Bataan and the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS William McLean (T-AKE 12), Dec. 31, 2019. The Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Detroit (LCS 7) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG 101) perform division tactics (DIVTACS) maneuvering exercises in the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility. Gridley is transiting through the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility while returning from deployment.
