On Tuesday, July 18, the European company Airbus Helicopters (part of the Airbus group) announced in social media that the first two of the 16 H225M Caracal medium multi-role helicopters ordered by the Hungarian Ministry of Defense have been delivered to the recipient.
On November 3, Hungarian Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky announced that the production of Gidrán 4×4 armored vehicles in cooperation with German and Turkish industries will soon begin in the country. The first official announcement about plans to develop a new vehicle based on the Turkish Ejder Yalçın (Dragon) appeared on December 21, 2020.
Gidrán's project based on the Turkish Ejder Yalçın (unsuccessfully offered to, among others, Estonia) was created thanks to the cooperation of the Hungarian industry with the German group Rheinmetall AG, which established a joint venture company Rheinmetall Hungary Zrt., also engaged in the production of KF41HU Lynx infantry fighting vehicles at the ZALA Zone plant in the town of Zalaegerszeg.
