"LRRP at work" A US soldier appointed to a Long-range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) unit in the late 1960s, during the Vietnam War. The image makes it clear that he poses exclusively for a LIFE magazine photo shoot, that is because he has a beard made, a new uniform and a weapon shining impeccably. These units were free to choose, among others, the weapon model they wanted to carry on each mission ... In case, it is a rifle in the XM177E1 / 5.56 x45mm version.
