1966, An Khe, Vietnam
Men from the 1st Air Cavalry Division (Air Mobile), ready for a "Search and Destroy" Operation, around their base of An Khe, in the Center of Vietnam, between Pleiku (west) and Qui Nhon (east). The 1st Air Cav arrived in South Vietnam by 1965, composed of 3 Brigades and 435 helicopters. The one in the photo is an UH-1E Huey.

A Centurian MK V/1 Tank,with the call sign 24C of A Squadron,1st Armoured Regiment(1AR) Royal Australian Armoured Corps(RAAC) on route 44 near the Long Hai Hills,which are visible in the background, with its gun ( OQF 20 pounder 84mm) trained towards the hills.
The tank is part of a small column of Australian vehicles that is checking for enemy movement in the area. Vietnam, 26 December 1969.
