civil aerospace Civilian aviation/aerospace thread

Random question for the nerds out there - can any of you think of a civilian delta winged aircraft produced more recently than Concorde? I imagine Burt Rutan has may have made some wacky (But awesome) prototypes, but I can't come up with anything else.

Anyone?

The Konkordsky Tu144.

Introduced in 75, Concorde in 76.

First flight in 68, Concorde 69.

"Flying" for the Konkordsky is a big word. It was such an awful aircraft that before being restricted to only delivering air mail, it flew once a week and every flight was a for the pilots a fight against loss of control and technical malfunctions.

How about the Space Shuttle?

Probably the last delta wing aircraft I know of...but not really civilian.

How about the Space Shuttle?

Yep - acceptable. Good shout.

It absolutely flew, but before Concorde.

In instant messages sent in April 2017 complaining about the Max’s flight management technology, an employee wrote: “This airplane is designed by clowns who in turn are supervised by monkeys.” They referred to its “piss poor design” and urged: “Let’s just patch the leaky boat”.
Jesus Christ. Well, those ginormous compensation sums American civil lawsuits are famous for are going to come in handy for once.

This has a very real chance to bankrupt Boeing, the ice has been getting thinner for them financially

If this had happened in America with an American airline, as BravoZulu said it could have been financially threatening...

Boeing's place of jurisdiction is the United States. If the aircraft's design is to blame, then the manufacturer can be sued in an American court.

FlyBe is on the brink of collapse .. they were bailed out by a consortium lead by Mr AntiBrexit Branson ... Flybe supposed to be re-branded Virgin Connect

II guess he didn't want his Virgin brand tarnished with a budget airline collapse . If the Airline goes fold and he steps media portray him as a saviour a hero .. blah blah .

You think the rebranding hasn't happened yet so if Flybe goes under, it's not associated with the Virgin name? The rebranding has always been scheduled for 2020 and we're only 13 days into 2020 so far..

It's still being referred as Flybe ..And they are needing money ..

Yeah, I realise they're still FlyBe - my point is that they announced in October that they would rebrand To Virgin Connect in 2020 and so far we're only a couple of weeks into 2020 so it's just not happened yet. Assuming they don't go under, the rebranding is still on the cards to happen this year.

Never expected to see a Russian Airliner ... Registered under the British Flag . ..

Russian airlines have to pay heavy import taxes on Western built airliners. Having them registered somewhere else means they can avoid that tax hence a lot of the Aeroflot fleet is registered in Bermuda and the Rossiya fleet is split between Bermuda and Ireland. The only Aeroflot aircraft actually registered in Russia are Sukhoi Superjets.
