Apparently, GoFundMe is now automatically sending everyone's contributions back, after they said they wouldn't do that. Why? Because people got organized on social media and instead filing a request for their money back, were calling their banks for a charge back. What's the big deal? Banks charge GoFundMe $15 per charge back. They would have been on the hook for millions. Way to do it, folks!

I'm also sure that their lawyers probably ripped them a new one, along with their PR department. I'm not a lawyer by any means, but it seems to me that they might have been on the hook for fraud, on a large scale, as effectively they took in money under false pretenses and were going to use it in a way that was not in the spirit of what the donors intended. Right now, their brand is shot as no one will ever trust them again due to their arbitrary and capricious behavior.
