An RAF C-130J Hercules transport aircraft from RAF Brize Norton based 47 Squadron has conducted a series of re-supply flights for the British Antarctic Survey. The supplies were air dropped by parachute.
Over a ten-day period 77 containers, weighing 63.1 tonnes of essential supplies, have been delivered to the BAS forward base at Sky Blu. The supplies included petrol, aviation fuel, rations and aircraft spares.
The RAF detachment is commanded by one of the 47 Sqn pilots who said, “We are pleased to have successfully completed the full quota of supplies requested by BAS during Ex Austral Endurance. The tenacity and flexibility of our teams from 47 Sqn RAF and 47 (Air Despatch) Sqn Royal Logistic Corps made up for an initial delay.”

Training conditions got a little bit icy for the Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service as they started their training for winter operations during Exercise Deep Freeze in Norway.
The team can be called out in the harshest weather and must be ready well before the British winter arrives.
Formed in 1943, the RAF MRS is the UK military's only all-weather search and rescue capability.
Officer Cadets from the intermediate term of Royal Military Academy Sandhurst have recently completed Exercise Allenby's Advance, at Sennybridge Training Area, Brecon. The exercise tests Officer Cadets on the principles of offensive operations through the framework of Advance to Contact, and Deliberate Attacks.
As part of the Ajax rigorous trials and testing process, General Dynamics Land Systems–UK conducted Littoral Fording Trials at Instow, North Devon. The trial showcased the capability of the vehicle in performing prepared and unprepared fording operations.
