During the last week of October, the recruits of the Pansarbattalion at the Norrbottens regiment performed survival training and soldier tests. An exercise that tested the individual's and later group's ability to maintain combat value despite hard conditions. "If you swear something like keeping warmth or absorbing liquid or food, you'll see the consequences immediately. These exercises are very good for the individual to grow as a soldier", says Major Sven-Erik Lantz at the Pansarbattalion.
As part of the exercise "Arctic Shield 18" the Swedish Army will provide support to the Finnish force by means of an intelligence battalion. Undertaking training will increase the Finnish Army's capability in taking command over the Swedish battalion and consolidate connectivity between the Finnish command echelon and the Swedish battalion.
